George was born on December 28, 1947 in Edmonton, Alberta.
George is survived by his wife Joan, brothers Doug (Pam), Art (Del), sister Patti and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Cy and Beryl.
Family and friends will remember George for his kind and generous heart, love of conversation, quick wit, advice and wisdom he shared and his ability to make people feel welcome and cared for.
George will also be remembered for his nostalgic spirit. He cherished the memories of days gone by, often sharing stories about his childhood, family, old friends, and the experiences that shaped his life.
George had deep ties to his community and spent most of his life in public service. He was an avid sailor and swimmer and loved best his time on the water. The ocean was his playground.
Per George’s wishes, there will not be a formal service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in George’ s memory.
George will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
