Born in London, Ontario, Larry was a hardworking, kind-hearted man who spent his life doing what he loved and caring deeply for those around him. He took great pride in his work as a flooring installer, a trade he enjoyed for many years and continued practicing until just a few months before his passing.
Larry found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid fisherman, a passionate collector of Coleman memorabilia, a lover of a cold beer shared among family and friends, and he especially enjoyed spending time working on and enjoying his boat. Those who knew him will remember his strong work ethic, his willingness to lend a hand, and his love of telling stories in great detail—often sharing memories and experiences that could captivate a room and leave listeners smiling.
He leaves behind his loving daughters, Carley Pope and Rachel Dunbar; his cherished grandchildren, Olivia Pope and Lucas Elias, who brought him immense pride and happiness; his devoted girlfriend, Deborah White; his former wife, Peggy Dunbar; and his brothers, John Dunbar and Brian Dunbar.
Larry was predeceased by his parents, Leah McIntyre and William Dunbar, and by his brother, Allan Dunbar.
Larry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he leaves behind.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date by immediate family. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who knew him to raise a glass, spend a day on the water, or cast a line in his memory.
Forever loved, forever remembered.
