

Mary was born in Dorking England to predeceased parents Len and Pat Leach.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Victor of nearly 30 years, and her brother Peter and Sue.
Mary attended a Catholic High school before going to the Royal London Hospital (1962-1965) where she completed her RN training. She attained her Midwifery in 1968 before moving to Canada in the same year, and in 1978 in Edmonton obtained her B.Sc. in Nursing. Her duties, included being a supervisor, nursing coordinator and a director of nursing. Mary dedicated her life to caring for others with kindness and compassion, and her love for all nationalities.
She was very proud of her religion and her 42 year nursing career, being a Canadian citizen. She gave her time to so many people. Mary took pride in everything she did, including donating to many charities.
She worked in many parts of the hospital, including the OR and as a midwife. Her hospitals included Royal London, Southampton, Portsmouth, (England), Edmonton, Hallbeach (Arctic), USAF Goose Bay, Melville (Happy Valley), University of Alberta, Comox, and Dhahran (Saudi Arabia) where she met her husband Vic. Her nursing skills and supervision capabilities came to the forefront during the Desert Storm war.
Married In 1997 England, they settled in Comox, sharing many wonderful holidays, visiting numerous countries. She was a wife any man could be proud of. She loved spending many hours attending the flowers in our gardens.
Mary volunteered with the BC SPCA, Therapeutic Riding School, stocking the Care-A-Van and RCMP Victims Assistance program. She attended Curves Comox, keeping fit and healthy, as well as always taking great care of her husband. Her favorite saying to him was:-
"I may not always be there WITH YOU, but I will always be there FOR YOU, and I will do my best to never FAIL YOU." Mary always kept her word.
Throughout her last year Mary never complained once of her cancer. Her bravery through her ordeals cannot be excelled. She was a true champion.
Mary will be deeply missed by her husband and all who new her.
