It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Scott Douglas Rousay, who passed away peacefully in his home on July 10, 2026, at the age of 63, following a courageous battle with COPD and emphysema.
Scott was a hardworking, dedicated man who took immense pride in everything he did. He spent many years as the Head Detailer at Sunwest Auto Shine before pursuing his dream of owning and operating his own detailing business. His attention to detail, strong work ethic, and genuine care for his customers earned him the respect of everyone who had the pleasure of working with him. Sadly, declining health eventually forced him to step away from the work he loved.
Outside of work, Scott was happiest at the lake, riding his quad and enjoying the peace that nature brought him. Those moments, surrounded by the outdoors he loved, were where he truly felt at home.
Scott will be remembered as an incredibly devoted father, a loyal friend, and someone who was always willing to help those he loved. He and his daughter shared a special bond, and although they could be equally stubborn at times, there was never any doubt how deeply he loved her. He taught her countless lessons throughout life, especially about cars, and those memories and conversations will be treasured forever.
Scott was predeceased by his parents, John and Hazel; his brothers, John and Richard; and his sister, Fiona.
He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Aurora Rousay; Debbie Seal, the mother of his daughter and his lifelong friend; his sister, Moira; his brother, Iain; and numerous friends who became family over the years. He also leaves behind many whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.
While our hearts are broken by his loss, we find comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and is finally at peace. His love, strength, generosity, and the memories he gave us will remain with us forever. He will be deeply missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
The world feels a little quieter without him, but his love, his lessons, and his stubborn determination will live on in everyone who knew him—especially in his daughter.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be announced at a later date.
