Alberta Jean Louise Graig

Alberta was born on October 22, 1927, in Gary, IN, to the late Albert and Hazel (née Ridgeway) Strauch. She was raised in Gary and lived there her whole life. Alberta enjoyed playing poker with her family. She was a devoted mom and loved her grandchildren with her whole heart.

Alberta is survived by her daughters, Susan (Gary) Cruse and Gloria (Joe) Frey; her grandchildren, Anthony (Jen) Cruse, Jacklin (Patrick) Piaskowy, Rachel (Chris) Taylor, Joey (Alyssa) Frey, and Kyla Graig; her great-grandchildren, Hunter Cruse, Kaleigh Stephensen, Brian Stephensen, Wade Piaskowy, Christopher Taylor, Joey Frey, Jr., and Libby Frey; her brother, Carl (Roberta) Strauch; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Graig; her daughter, Mary Jo Graig; and her brother, Eugene Strauch.

A visitation for Alberta will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
