Bessie Ihnat

Bessie is survived by her children, Patricia (Nena) Ihnat, Nancy Ihnat, Michael (Paula) Ihnat, and Sandra Clark; grandchildren, Christopher (Ben) and Patrick (Emilie); and sisters, Georgia (late Edward) Fabian, and Christine (late Edward) Hewitt.

Bessie was preceded in death by her parents, Christ and Hazel Spiros; and her ex-husband, John Ihnat.

As per her wishes, Bessie has been cremated.

Services for Bessie will be held on April 10, 2026, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue in Crown Point, IN, with visitation from 10:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Bessie was a long-time parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Lake Station, IN. She was a member of the Ladies Sodality there for many years. Bessie enjoyed her time and made many friends at Wilco Foods in Miller, IN, where she worked with her childhood friend, Angie Costas. Bessie also made many treasured memories with her good friend, Arlene Phillips.
