

She is survived by her 3 sons, Lawrence 'Larry' (Donna) Bayless, Alan 'Gene' (Cheryl) Bayless and Gale 'Duane' (Jennifer) Bayless; grandchildren, Dawn (Rob) Smith, Mike (Julie) Bayless, Belinda Jackson, Tracy (Robby) Rodriguez, Lisa Greenwald, Amanda Bayless, Tiffany Bayless, Mackenzie Bayless, Jason Bayless, Joshua Bayless, Janice Bayless, Jaime Draper, Jeff (Sarah) Bayless and Tommy Bayless; great grandchildren, Dominick Greenwald, Emily Greenwald, William Cano, Joseph Cano, Brittany Smith, Ryan Smith, Kaitlyn Pick, Jacob Pick, Julianna Rodriquez, Leah Rodriguez, Honesty Ashton, Darren (Betsy) Kern, Morgan Andino, Xander Andino, Kree Draper and Jebediah Draper; siblings, Opal Geneva Truesdell, Carolyn Ruarke and Frankie (Betty Ann) Highfield; daughter in law, Mari Ferguson; special friends, Virginia Witham, Julie Butler and Brett Hansen.
Preceded in death by husband, Thomas Louis Bayless; son, Louis Lee Bayless; granddaughter, Sara Kern and brother, Otto Highfield.
Betty was born on April 10, 1933 in Trinity, KY to the late Clifford and Mollie Highfield. On August 16, 1951, she married the love of her life, Thomas Louis Bayless and together they shared 42 years together. Betty was a longtime member of Women of the Moose Lodge 1189 Whiting, IN. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing bingo and truly cherished talking on the phone with her sister, Opal.
Betty was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will truly be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 12:00 PM at (Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Pastor Paul Vale officiating.
Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crown Point, IN.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
Due to the current conditions of Covid-19, masks are required for attendance at the funeral home and cemetery.
