Debbie was the loving wife and high school sweetheart to Valentine Gonzalez, Jr.; beloved mother to Bryan (Crystal) Gonzalez and Katherine (Jose Avila) Gonzalez; proud grandmother to Bryan Gonzalez, Adrianna Gonzalez, Trinity Baker, Julian Smith, Sam Demopoulos and Edgar Acosta; cherished sister to Lois (David) Brown, the late Robert Carlotta and the late Kenneth Carlotta; cherished aunt to David (Ashly) Brown, Sabrina (Michael) Ray, Brittany (Brad) Press, and the late Jared Finger; devoted daughter to the late Gerald and Joyce Carlotta; sister-in-law to Steve (Barb) Gonzalez, Leisa (Lyle) Mohr, Amy Gonzalez, Richard (Erika) Gonzalez, the late Chris Gonzalez and their children; and a special friend to the Demopoulos family.

Debbie, a resilient breast cancer survivor, proudly stood as a pillar of strength. As a devoted Air Force spouse, she nurtured her family through 26 years of military life, embodying unwavering love. Her confidence and assertiveness inspired others to reach for their goals and achieve their dreams. She loved deeply and was artistic and refined. She maintained a caring demeanor even amidst her busy life. She loved to cook and throw parties, and her presence impacted everyone she cared about. Her essence touched the lives of all she held dear. "We will miss all those things about you and so much more.”

Visitation for Debra will be held on Monday, September 25, 2023, from 3:00 - 8:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, with a Celebration of Life at 6:00 PM.
