Donald R. Lannin

Donald R. Lannin, age 84, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2017 at his residence, with his loving family at his side. Donald was born September 30, 1932 to the late Robert and Leona (Long) Lannin. Also preceding him in death are his loving wife, Andrian Lannin; and a son-in-law Michael Smyth. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Richard Lannin, Debra Smyth, and Mark Lannin; grandchildren: Patrick, Ryan, Caitlin, and Conor Smyth, Jay, Douglas, and Dana Lannin; and brother, Charles (Arlene) Lannin. After honorably serving his country during the Korean Conflict, he began his career in banking in Northwest Indiana. After marring his wife, continued his career in banking in the Chicagoland area, where he and Andrian raised their children. Donald was a member of Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis, and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Loving and devoted father, supporting all of his children's interests. He was an avid golfer, enjoying many golf outings in his career, and golfing in his retirement years with his wife and children. Visitation will be Thursday, January 19, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave. Schererville, IN 46375) Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church (Day Chapel, 9330 Wicker Ave.; St. John, IN 46373) with Fr.
