Ernestina Aguilar Hernandez

Ernestina was born February 17, 1929, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Ray and Petra (Lopez) Aguilar. Also preceding her in death are her husband of 54 years, Trinidad Hernandez, and sisters, Mary (Sotero) Navarro, Elvira (John) Arroyo.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Helena Haire, Theresa (Clay) Misner, Trinidad Hernandez Jr., Ricardo Hernandez, Lupita (Bill) Demkovich, Jenny Fowler, Linda Hernandez, and Frank (Maria) Aguilar, grandchildren, Jonathan, Kristen (Greg), Lauren, Samantha, Ellie (John), Amanda, Melissa (Jason), Lisa, Frankie, and Michael, great grandchildren, Kenley, Peyton, Elysia, and Olivia. Siblings, Rina (the late Dennis) Engel, Ruth (Santos) Quintanilla, Ray (Lee) Aguilar, Esther Bowersox, and Vicky (Eli) Perez, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mrs. Hernandez was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was a selfless caregiver to many generations of her family and known to many as “Granny”.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 9:30 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, IN 46375) with loving brother-in-law Eli Perez officiating. Visitation will be Friday, April 17, 2015, 3-8pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given towards the Alzheimer’s Association.
