James "J.D." Crull

J.D. is the loving husband to Deborah Crull; beloved father to Michael (Susan) Juarez, and Stacy (Thomas) Austgen; proud grandfather to Russell Berglund, Riana Berglund, Morgan Juarez and Ethan Austgen; cherished brother to Ken (Vicky) Crull, the late Barb Crull, the late Dwight Crull, and the late Scott Crull; and fond uncle to Cory (Emily) Crull, Kendal (Juan) Crull, Tessa Crull, Destin Crull, Josh Crull and Brandon Crull.

J.D. was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight Vernon and Mary Louise Crull.

J.D. proudly served in the United States Army for two years. He retired as the Chief of Police in Burnham, IL after 33 years of faithful service. He served on the South Suburban Chiefs Association. Immediately after retirement, he became the School Resource Officer at Wentworth Elementary for 13 years. He was a proud lifetime member of the American Legion Post #330 in Calumet City, IL.

J.D. enjoyed golfing and antique cars, as well as riding his motorcycle with the Blue Knights. He especially enjoyed spending time with his immediate family and his grandchildren.

A Visitation honoring J.D. will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 pm on Wednesday June 26, 2024 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307, with a Funeral Service at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 27, 2024. Burial will follow at 11:00 am at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
