It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Janet Hartlerode, a remarkable woman whose strength, kindness, and love touched many. A cherished, gentle, kind and courageous mother to Karin Jackson, Debra (Mark) Kolisz, Thomas Hartlerode and David (Monica) Hartlerode.
Janet faced her illness with grace and unwavering spirit before passing peacefully on October 2, 2025, at 11:15 p.m. She will be remembered not only for her resilience, but also for the joy she brought with all of her wonderfully delicious baked treats, her thoughtful and beautiful crochet creations, her lengthy caring phone chats, and above all, the warmth she always shared.
She leaves behind her sister, Carolyn (Roy) Phelps; her brother, Ralph Boggs; her grandchildren, Derek Cheusde, Tori Jackson, Tanner Jackson, Zacharry Kolisz, Bryonna Hartlerode, Bryon Hartlerode, Elaina Hartlerode, Kevin (Carrissa) Hahney, Kayla Hahney, Kierstyn Hartlerode, Kyle (Megan) Hartlerode; and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Boggs.
Honoring Janet’s wishes, there will be no public visitation. She hoped instead that those whose lives she touched would remember her by holding close the moments shared together, just as she held those memories so dearly. A private family service and cremation have been entrusted to Chapel Lawn Funeral Home.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ChapelLawnFunerals.com for the Hartlerode family.
