Jeanette Jacqueline Lucente (née Demers), formerly married to Anthony Raymond Lucente, 94, of St. John, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19th, 2025, surrounded by family. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, she lived a life full of love, family, and joyful memories.
She is survived by her devoted younger sister, Maryrose Albert (née Demers) and her husband, Marcel Albert; her five loving children: Loretta and her husband, Gerald Bromley, Patricia and her husband, Lawrence Ruff, Steven Lucente and his wife, Susan, Stella and her husband, William Barrett, and Francis Lucente and his wife, Jeanette. She is also survived by ten cherished grandchildren: Christine, Stephanie, Michelle, Ashley, Brianne, Mark, Patrick, Angelo, Cecilia, and Maura; and ten adored great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her former husband, Anthony Raymond Lucente; her parents, Ralph and Rose Demers; her much-loved and missed son, Mark Lucente; her oldest sister, Pauline Nolan (née Demers); her younger brother, Robert Demers; and her younger sister, Lorraine Timko (née Demers).
Born and raised in Connecticut, she met the love of her life while working as a bookkeeper at the H. J. Heinz Company in Hartford. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with travel, family, and shared memories. Their adventures took them across the globe to China, Australia, Hawaii, Alaska, and Europe. They also enjoyed many years in Florida, where she treasured spending time with her parents and extended family, delighting in visits from her grandchildren.
A dedicated and loving grandmother, she was always baking treats and homemade bread for her family and friends. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and delicious aromas, and her grandkids will forever remember the joy of her goodies.
She had a deep love for nature and could often be found tending to her flower garden, puttering around with pride and care. Summers in Cape Cod, visits to the Connecticut shoreline, and the vibrant colors of fall in New England brought her true happiness.
Family and friends meant everything to her. Whether she was spending time in Connecticut during the summers, visiting her parents, cousins, and siblings, or simply enjoying the laughter of her grandchildren, she created a legacy of love and togetherness.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will continue to bloom in the hearts of those she loved.
