John S. Hegyes

I am heartbroken to announce the passing of my Father, John Stanley Hegyes, 79, of Hammond, IN. My Father enjoyed hunting, fishing and supporting any and all things Veteran related. He was proud to be a Navy Veteran and he also served with the National Guard. If you were fortunate to be in his presence you probably experienced his never ending tales and endless jokes. Some, if not most, should never be repeated. My Father was also a huge supporter of the Union and retired from Local 150, Int. Union of Operating Engineers.

He is preceded by his parents Steven and Victoria (Gondek) Hegyes, his brother Robert Hegyes and daughter Tina Hegyes.

He is survived by his daughters Bridget (Hegyes) Potter, Heather (Hegyes) Juday and Christina (Nemcek) Knezevich. His grandchildren Nichol (Potter) Stangle, Patrick Hegyes, Jonathan Juday and Elizabeth Juday.

His brothers Michael, Steve and Joe Hegyes, sisters Doreen (Hegyes) Remesnik and Annette (Hegyes) Carlson. Brother-in-law Jim Carlson and Sister-in-law Angelika Hegyes.

Many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and others whose lives are forever blessed to have known my Dad.
