Karen L. Wallisch, age 61 of Hammond, passed away peacefully after a courageous five year battle with ovarian cancer on Tuesday, August 24, 2010. Karen spent more than 30 years in education and was the Chief Administrator for Business Services for the School City of Hammond. She was always passionate about her family, especially her grandchildren. Karen is survived by her daughters: Lorelei Harsha and Marci (Frank) Hendricks; brother, Butch (Annette) Reeves; grandchildren: McKenzie, Maxwell, Nathan, Bryce, Myles, Maya and Zoe; nephew, Spencer; and niece, Hanna. And her loving dog, Fiona. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 27, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave., Schererville, IN with Chaplain Bill Hall officiating.
