Kenneth G. Hicks

Kenneth G. Hicks, age 84, of Merrillville, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Juanita (nee Webb); four daughters: Evelyn (Larry) DeMunck of Crown Point, Joyce (Leland) Chandler of Crown Point, Vickie (Roscoe) Wedding of Lowell, and Kathy (Eddie) Wireman of Hobart; nine grandchildren: Nicole Peoples, Eric DeMunck, Jason (Beth) Chandler, Michelle (Jerry) Hatfield, Nathan (Emily) Chandler, Buddy, Justin, Trenton James Keelen and Priscilla Wireman; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Sue (Dwight) Brown of TN; one brother, Thomas Hicks of TN; and numerous nieces and nephews in Tennessee. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. DIRECTLY at First Baptist Church of Schererville with Pastor Tommy McDonnell officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family Monday, December 9, 2013 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Ave. (one-half mile south of US 30), Schererville. Mr. Hicks was a member of the First Baptist Church of Schererville and retired from Ford Motor Company in Chicago Heights, IL with 32 years of service. Kenneth loved to read the Bible and listen to Southern Gospel Music.
