Mr. and Mrs. Hanchar, I remember Kevin as a fine young man, and it does not surprise me at all that he accomplished so much so soon. You must be very proud of him, as am I.  With a great attitude and outstanding work ethic, he was a pleasure to work with as a student. I shall think of him often, and my thoughts are with you. 


I worked with Kevin on midnites at Community for about 3 years. We worked weekends together and our weekend crew often played games and shared favorite foods. Kevin talked a lot about his family, and it was obvious how much they meant to him. I have a lot of fond memories of working with Kevin- from playing super competitive Uno games, to having Taco Bell one too many times, to being driven insane by his Christmas music! I will always cherish the memories I have of Kevin, and am incredibly saddened that he was taken so soon. My heart goes out to his family. Kevin, I hope there's plenty of Diablo sauce for you in Heaven!

Words fail me, Hanchar family.  It has been such a privilege to know you and the boys over the years.  I remember Kevin well and am glad I was able to coach and teach him when he was younger and compete against him on the softball field as an adult.  I was especially proud when he chose Purdue.  He was an excellent young man who stood out among the many students I have had the privilege to work with over the years.  I am still stunned by this news.  Know that I will be praying for all of you.

I met Kevin through fantasy football and quickly learned of his love for sports.  I've grown to know him throughout the years and I will miss him deeply.  My condolences to his family for their loss.  My prayers are with you all.

I am so very sad to hear about your passing, Kevin.  I’ve never known you to be anything but kind, sweet, and warm.  I wish you well, and wish condolences and comfort to all of your family and friends.  

I am so incredibly sorry to hear of Kevin's passing.  I got to know him while working at Omni and he was such a sweet and gentle soul.  Every time I would pass him in the club he would say hello with a smile.  He will be greatly missed, and my condolences to the whole family.  God bless.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories with Kevin over the last decade: one being senior prom and that white tux he was so adamant about wearing (and looked so handsome!). Kevin was such a gentleman that night and every other time I saw him during high school and while at Purdue. He was loved by so many and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers to you and your family. 

As we remember happier times at the Dyer Little League  field, we are deeply saddened by the news of the sudden loss of Kevin’s life. Our heartfelt condolences for the family and many lives he touched. May he Rest In Peace In God’s love. May God’s Love also provide comfort during this most difficult time.

Kevin was a great person and always full of positivity and hope. I always admired his work ethic and he never let me down when it came to covering his shifts at work. I am Praying for everyone who knew him because we all are forever changed now but glad God gave me the opportunity to know him...until we meet again.

Kevin will be truly missed.  Growing up as a best friend of Adam’s, Kevin was always such a great person to myself and others.  We watched playoff football together one year, and that was my first glimpse at how competitive he was.  Having drinks and talking about life with him at Adam’s 21st birthday was an experience I will cherish forever.  My condolences to a loving family and great person in Kevin.

Kevin was an amazing man who is gone too soon.  I knew him from Omni 41 from the front desk and getting some spots and sets in together over the years.  Rest Easy Kevin you are missed.

I met Kevin last year during softball and we instantly became buddies. We got the chance to hang out outside of softball. We always bullshitted about the Cubbies and we even watched super bowl together at rbar. I had a daughter and he took me out for celebratory drinks. We were supposed to get together after the 4th. RIP buddy

Kevin Michael Hanchar age 31, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 30, 2019.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Kathleen Hanchar; brothers, Brandon Hanchar and Adam Hanchar and maternal grandparents, Ray and Karen Kaszuba.
Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, John and Elizabeth Hanchar and uncle, Raymond Kaszuba.
