Margaret J. Baker

Margaret J. Baker, age 73, of Griffith, Indiana passed away peacefully on September 12, 2016 with her loving family at her side. Margaret was born July 14, 1943 in Moundsville, West Virginia to the late Lloyd and Ida (Greathouse) Coulter. Also preceding her in death are her loving husband of 54 years, Donald Baker; siblings, Fern O'Neil, Betty Baker, Ria Fox, Thomas Coulter, Doug Coulter, Grace Brittion, and Mary Orrajo. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Terry (Donald) Smith and Don Baker Jr.; grandchildren, Jason (Amanda) Smith and Justin (Katie) Smith; great grandchildren, Violet and Joshua Smith; sister, Willa Mitchell; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Baker was a loving and devoted caretaker for many generations of her family. Margaret loved life and adventure and traveling. She was an avid bowler, bingo player, and bunko group member. Visitation will be Friday, September 16, 2016 from 4-8 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave.; Schererville, Indiana 46375). Funeral services will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be given towards American Humane Society.
