Marvin Melvin Miller, Sr.

Marvin M. Miller, Sr., age 86, of Cedar Lake, IN, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at his residence with his loving family at his side. Marvin was the loving husband to the late Frances Miller; long-time companion to Pat Dunham; beloved father to Kathy (Dave) Heiser, Karen Miller, Harold (Jeanette) Miller, the late Marvin (Renee) Miller, Jr., and twin sons, the late Donald and Von Miller; proud grandfather to Danielle (Levi) Connelly, Shilo (Ian) Nagel, Michelle (Jonathan) Walsh, Joshua Miller, Nathan Miller, Ashley (Joshua) Riley, Adam Miller, Aaron (Stephanie) Miller and Alyssa Miller; great-grandfather to Levi and Sara Connelly, Summer, Anthony, and Shilinn Ahlquist, Malas and Mehryk Nagel, Cassie and Paul Williams, Aly Miller, Aydin Miller, Karagan and McCoy Miller; cherished brother to Robert Miller, and preceded by several brothers and sisters; cherished uncle to many. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Duke. Marvin was a very hard worker, and spent many years working three jobs. He retired after many years of faithful service as a foreman with the Indiana Department of Transportation, retiring also as a hammersmith with Indiana Forge. Marvin was an animal lover, an avid outdoorsman, and extensive traveler. He especially enjoyed spending time with his large family. Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2024 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Frances, at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
