Mildred “Millie” Davis

Mildred "Millie" Davis (nee Kovacik), age 90, of Hammond, IN, passed away peacefully on Thursday April 16th, 2026. Millie was the devoted wife of the late William Davis, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah; granddaughter, Sara Schorle (Paul); cherished great-grandson, Cole Schorle; brother, Eugene (JoAnn) Kovacik; and several nieces and nephews. Millie was preceded in death by her husband, William; her beloved great-granddaughter, Grace Schorle; and her sister, Roseann (the late William) Phillips.

Millie was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, and the Lacare Art League. She loved to help organize the International Culture Festival that was held at Morton High School in Hammond. An artist at heart, she found great joy in the quiet precision of crocheting, sewing, painting and baking. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

A visitation for Millie will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Burial to follow at 2:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
