NANCY K. HOWARD (NEE BENSON) CEDAR LAKE, IN Nancy K. Howard (nee Benson), age 85, of Cedar Lake passed away Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Franciscan St. Anthony's Hospital in Crown Point. She was born on February 19, 1928 in Lawrenceville, IL to Francis J. and Ruby Helm Benson. Nancy married Otis C. Howard on September 29, 1951, and he preceded her in death January 24, 1991. Nancy's survivors include daughter, Marcia Lund of Cedar Lake; granddaughters: Heather (William) Zigtema, Jessica (Kenneth) Andrews and Stephanie (Allen) Leady; great grandchildren: Bruce and Rebecca Lane, Allee and Emma Leady, and Andrew Zigtema; brother, Dr. Jack H. Benson of Lakeland, FL; nephews: William J. Benson of High Ridge, MO and David F. Benson of Portage. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings: Portia Lee, Ted Ernest, and Leo F. Benson. Per Nancy's wishes, no services were held. Arrangements were entrusted to Chapel Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN.
