Valparaiso,IN
On April 19 Pat joined her beloved husband in eternal rest. Chuck preceded her in death in 2005.
Pat was born to Elizabeth Mary and Stephen Yenco on May 31, 1935 in Gary, IN. She was raised in Gary and then went on to college in Winona, Minnesota.
Pat worked as a nanny in Sweden for a short time and came back to the United States and worked as a correspondent for CNA Insurance Company. She eventually proved to be a very proficient legal secretary when she obtained a job at Kirkland and Ellis in Chicago. After many good years she retired from that same law firm.
Pat married Charles Bilderback in 1979 in Michigan City where they became inseparatable until his death in 2005. They enjoyed traveling together and collecting antique sewing machines. They were also very charitable working with many different organizations. Pat was an excellent seamstress and found many uses for her skill within their charity work. Her act of charity continued after her death as she chose to give the gift of sight.
After her husband's death, Pat remained active in the sewing machine circuit. For the last eight years up until her death, she was the administrator of the list for the International Sewing Machine Collectors' Society (ISMACS). She also worked closely with the Porter Senior Center to assure that the doors remained opened to active members.
Things that would bring a smile to Pat's face were sweet faces of puppies, fresh cut flowers, lemonade, Frosties from Wendy's, Charlie Brown and the Peanut's Gang, playing cards with the seniors and, of course, stories of her beloved Chuck.
Pat is survived by her brother Vincent (Mickey)Yenco, four step-children and 8 step-grandchildren.
Also preceding Pat in death were her mother, father and her cousin Charlene.
Pat will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens after cremation. A short memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Schererville, Indiana, at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 30th.
In her memory donations may be presented to the charity of the donor's choice.
