Patricia L. "Pat" Weatherford

.Patricia Weatherford, of Griffith, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2014, at Community Hospital with her loving family at her side. Pat was born November 12, 1941, in Griffith, IN to the late Oscar and Esther (Paulson) Ahrens. On September 10, 1960, she married the love of her life, William E. Weatherford, who preceded her in death on July 21, 2013. Also preceding in death are her brother Jim Ahrens and faithful companion Buster. Survivors are her daughters: Michele Weatherford-Towle and Gary Towle and Dena (Tom) Schmidt; grandchildren: Benjamin (Jessica Flores) Weatherford, an expected great granddaughter, Jordan Grace, grandson Gabriel Towle, and granddaughter, Melony (Joey Lorenz) Schmidt. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews: Rhonda Foote, Rick (Toni) Foote, Allen (Jennifer) Foote, and Anna Mallory; sisters-in-law: Sharon Ahrens and Jennie (Jack) Powers; best friend, Judy Lechrone; and faithful companions Doodle and Tiki. Mrs. Weatherford was a long time member of Tri-City Church in Christ of Griffith where she loved to share her talents and sing. She also selflessly gave her time and talents to the Harbor Light Hospice singing while her husband played the guitar. Pat often visited the "Rock and Roll" McDonalds in Highland and sang her favorite song "Silver Wings". She was a generous caregiver to many generations of her family. Pat had a deep faith in God, and lived and practiced a Christian Life. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2014 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S. Cline Ave; Schererville, IN 46375). Funeral services will be Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:00 am with Minister John Brewer officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
