Obituary of Sharon Mae Mannion
Sharon M. Mannion Saint John , IN Sharon M. Mannion age 58, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020, with her caring family by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Timothy Mannion; children, Michael (Elizabeth) Mannion and Julie (Chris) Hall; mother, Janice Carlson; siblings,Kenneth (Kelly) Carlson, David (Lynn) Carlson, Nancy (Dean) Carlson and Donald (Michelle) Carlson; grandchildren, Emil and Harper Mannion; other "mom and dad" Michael and Sharon Mannion and "sister" Chrisanne Mannion. Also left behind were many adored nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her father, Vernon Carlson and nephew, Derek Carlson. Sharon graduated from Munster High School in 1979 to go on to Purdue Northwest, graduating in 1981 with a nursing degree. On September 5, 1981, she married her high school sweetheart, Tim and would later raise two beautiful children together. After graduation, Sharon worked as a nurse for Methodist Hospital until she moved into the oncology field for Cancer Health Treatment Centers. Sharon devoted her life to excellent patient care, being sure that every patient knew her love and joy of helping those who needed it most. Sharon did so while fighting her own battle with cancer, having beaten it three times herself. Sharon was a fighter and was sure to let her patients know anything was possible with the right attitude and willingness to fight any battle. Sharon loved spending time on the water, always looking for the perpetual "cold spot." She loved cooking, whether for her family or to send to those who needed it more, often using recipes she found in her Food Network magazines, marking only the best. She loved to go see her "babies," Emil and Harper, any chance she could. At holidays, Sharon always made sure each and every niece and nephew had a gift basket, with loving teddy bears and unicorns from Build-A-Bear. Those who didn`t know her soon did due to her contagious laughter. Sharon was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend and will forever be remembered by any heart that knew hers. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 Cline Avenue Crown Point, IN) with Rev. Michael Surufka, OFM officiating.
