She is survived by her son John Pietruszka, daughters Christine (William) Liberman, Mary Pietruszka, three grandchildren, Amanda, Jillian, Timothy (Rose) Lieberman, seven step-children, Joe (Autumn) Niewiadomski, David (Sherri) Niewiadomski, Dennis Niewiadomski, Maryann Carrillo, John Niewiadomski, Frank (Kate) Niewiadomski, Adam Niewiadomski; step daughter-in-law, Sharon Niewiadomski, many step grandchildren; one step great-grandchild, Alan and four special friends, Zofia Pawlowicz, Sofie Pater, Barbara Pietraszek and Mr./Mrs. Carl Krowiak.
Preceded in death two husbands, Dennis Pietruszka and Joseph Niewiadomski and step-son Ricky Niewiadomski.
Sophie was born in Poland and a former resident of Chicago, IL; Calumet City, IL; Dyer, IN and The Tri-State Nursing Home in Lansing, IL. She worked at Pullman Bank in Dolton, IL and she was a long time member of the Polish Veterans Club.
Friends may call on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, (1/2 mile of U.S. Rt 30), Crown Point, Indiana 46307. Funeral services will beheld at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:30 AM, Randy Harrison, Minister officiating. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
