He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Julia 'Judy' (nee Farrar) Miller and siblings, Perry, Glenn, Hope and Gay.
Preceded in death by his parents, Tad and Florence Miller and siblings, Delana and Owen.
Vernon proudly served our country in the US Army and was a longtime member of the VFW, American Legion, the Masons and the Shriners. He retired from BP with 17 years of service. Vernon enjoyed music, country and blues and sang and played the harmonica. He attended business college and real estate school and was a licensed cosmetologist in Indiana and Tennessee. He loved cars, and rode a motorcycle and learned to fly and skydive. He and Judy enjoyed traveling in their motor home to Tennessee and Florida with their cats, Lucky and Baby. Vernon was a loving son, brother and husband and will truly be missed by all whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 8178 Cline Avenue Schererville, IN.
