Walter Henry Zdonek

Walter is the loving husband of 48 years to Diane Zdonek; cherished father to Melissa (Tom) Helmkamp, Melanie (Jake) Hilliard and Michael (Pauline) Zdonek; proud grandfather to Madelyn, Alex, Taytum, Madden, Sean and Brandon; fond brother to Roman (Mary) Zdonek, Halina (Jim) Leibrand, Donna (Richard) Asbell and the late Ziggy (Judy) Zdonek; devoted son to the late Zygmunt and the late Zofia Zdonek.

Walter worked for R.T. Patterson as a piping engineer. He and his wife are faithful members of St. Michael Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and Indiana University men's basketball fan. Walter was a perfectionist and loved helping his family and friends at whatever project they had, especially painting. Walter especially enjoyed attending all his grandchildren's sports and dance events, and was seen cheering them on.

Visitation will be Monday, June 23, 2025 from 4:00 - 800 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1 West Wilhelm Road, Schererville, IN 46375.
