William "Mark" Weaver

He is survived by his mother, Janis Barnes, and step-father, Don Barnes; siblings, Mike Weaver, Melissa Martell (nee Weaver), and Matt (Diane) Weaver; children, Shay, Macy, and Gray; two granddaughters; wife, Stacy Weaver; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, William Macy Weaver; and son, Reid.

Visitation will be held on May 3, 2026, from 1:00 - 5:00 pm at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. A memorial service will take place at 2:00 pm.

Mark lived a life defined by purpose, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to others. After earning his law degree, he made the bold and heartfelt decision to leave a career in law behind, choosing instead to serve his community through his work with AmeriCorps. It was there that he found true fulfillment, dedicating himself to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around him.

An educator at heart, Mark carried his passion for learning and growth into every space he entered. He held a bachelor’s degree from Bradley University and a master’s degree from Ball State University, later graduating from Vanderbilt Law School. Mark will be remembered for his enduring brotherhood as a member of Theta Chi fraternity and for his passion for the arts through his involvement with the Lake Central Theatre Guild. His intellectual curiosity was matched only by his warmth and generosity of spirit, making him not just a teacher, but a mentor and inspiration to many.

Above all, Mark cherished his family. He was a loving and devoted father whose greatest pride and joy were his children. His kindness, humor, and steady presence created a home filled with love and laughter. He was deeply devoted to his community, always seeking ways to give back and uplift others.

Mark will be remembered as a man of integrity, humor, and heart. He was a champion of service, a lover of life, and a source of joy to all fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the enduring love of his family.
