

Benjamin Torres Martinez was born in El Paso, TX on March 31, 1924 to the late Juan and Angelina Martinez. He passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at the age of 86 years old from natural causes. Ben served in the US Army for a short time and was honorably discharged in 1943. He was a retired letter carrier of 36 years in Amarillo, TX. He married Ramona Musquiz in November 1964. They lived in Amarillo until October of 2003 and afterward moved to Allen, TX to live with their children and grandchildren. They were members of Christian Life Center Assembly of God in Amarillo for many years and have recently enjoyed services at Mundo de Fe in McKinney, TX.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ramona Martinez, his son, Ben Martinez and wife, Marcy Martinez, his daughter Brenda Martinez and two granddaughters, Payton and Kennedy Martinez. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Granados and brother Pedro Martinez, both in California. He has many other loving family and friends in Amarillo/Plainview/Los Angeles areas.
Visitation will be held at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, on Sunday, February 20, 2011, 6pm-8pm. The memorial service will also be held at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, on Monday, February 21, 2011 at 11 am. Benjamin will be buried DFW National Cemetery in a private family ceremony later in the week.
