

Charles Benjamin Martin III, 86, of Plano, Texas, passed away on January 5th, 2026. He was born on April 18th, 1939, in Livingston, Montana, to Lindy (Hildegaard) Martin and Charles Martin Jr.
Charles graduated from Valley City State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. On February 4th, 1960, he married the love of his life, Ellen (Stoflet) Martin, with whom he shared many devoted years.
Throughout his career, Charles worked in accounting for Xerox, White Motor Corporation, Fingerhut, and Digital Switch Corporation. He was an active member of the Rotary Club and enjoyed hobbies that reflected his curiosity and appreciation for detail, including coin collecting and following his favorite sports.
Charles is survived by his son, Bradley Martin and his wife, Bobbi; his son, Bryan Martin and his wife, Kimberly; his daughter, Jill Bassett and her husband, Peter. He was a proud grandfather to Casey Hyvonen, Travis Martin, Blake Bassett, Ashlee Martin, Carly Gagliardi, and Mackensie Thomas, and a great‑grandfather to Harper Hyvonen, Cooper Martin, Colton Hyvonen, Nolan Martin, Emerson Hyvonen, Addison Gagliardi, Charlotte Bassett, Caroline Martin, and Theodore Hyvonen. He is also survived by his brother, Robert Martin.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen, and his daughter, Jody.
Charles' final resting place will be at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano, Texas. His legacy endures in the family he cherished and the memories he leaves behind.
