Crae Hunter Hillman passed unexpectedly at Medical City Plano on May 7th, 2020 in Plano, Texas at the age of 50 and was welcomed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Crae was born in Fort Worth on the eve of the Apollo 11 flight. Five days later, he and his mother, Carol Best Hillman, were released from the hospital, just in time to watch the astronauts walk on the moon.
Crae was preceded in death by his father, Luther (Lou) Hillman. Crae leaves behind his wife of 29 years, Judy Caster Hillman; daughters, Rebecca Hillman and fiancé, Zachary Minton and Hannah Hillman Chase and husband, Eric Chase; mother, Carol Best Hillman; sister, Anne Hillman Thomas and husband, Ryan and their sons, Pierce, Henry, and Benjamin; aunt and uncle Judy and Jim Zurlis; cousins, Scott and Amy Zurlis and their children, Jake and Jessi; cousins, Steven and Cari Zurlis and their children, Hunter and Hailey: and mother-in-law, Jean Caster. Crae is also survived by countless Hayes and Caster family relatives & a whole host of friends who will miss his smile, style & sense of humor...plus his amazing rock star hair!
Crae spent his earlier years in Carrollton, graduated from Granbury High School, and settled with his family in Plano. For many years, he was a realtor in Grapevine with his father at Berkshire Hathaway Lou Hillman Realtors.
Crae leaves behind a world made brighter by his smile, more beautiful through his writings, funnier with his ever present humor, well nourished by his culinary skills, and happier with his laughter. Rebecca and Hannah brought him unbounded joy and happiness. He loved life with his Judy; they lived it to the fullest. “Gonzo Ganza” Forever!
