by his loving family on November 1, 2010 after a lengthy and courageous battle with
cancer. Al is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Correne Castagnoli, son Paul and
wife Indara, son Craig and wife Vanessa, and daughter Renee’ and husband Eric, and
by his brother Neal and wife Kay. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Brittany,
Tyler, Abbey, Avery, Isabelle and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death
by his older brother Gene, and parents Neal and Irene.
Al, the middle son of three boys, grew up on Los Angeles, California before moving to
Northern California where he met Betty while finishing school. A veteran of the US Air
Force, Al worked as a chemist and then as president of a swimming pool chemical
corporation, settling in Texas in 1978. Al enjoyed aviation, baseball, classical music,
opera, and reading, but most of all he loved his family.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 11:00 am at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
