Eric Lee Kinney

Eric Lee Kinney, age 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday, March 1, 2010, after a short and severe battle with cancer. He was born on June 10, 1946 in Syracuse, N.Y. to Mary and Carl Kinney.

Eric Kinney proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star. He loved golfing and bowling, and was a master craftsman; he could build and fix anything! Mr. Kinney was a perpetual prankster, playing practical jokes on family and friends, constantly creating an environment of optimism and humor! Foremost, he was an empathetic, nurturing, giving and loving husband, father, and grandfather, who always cherished and provided for his family.

Eric Kinney was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Carl Kinney. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Alma; two sons, Anthony Gonzalez and wife Carolina of Los Angeles, CA, Kent Cameron and wife Lesli of Los Angeles, CA; his daughter, Tammy Angelina Candela of Plano TX; five grandchildren, Matthew and Eric Candela, Lars, Haley and Britta Cameron; his sister, Valerie Thompson and husband Mike; his brother, Brian Kinney and wife Gail; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. in the Ted Dickey West Funeral Home Chapel, 8011 Frankford Rd., Dallas, TX 75252.
