In 1957, Irv married the love of his life, Betty Herskowitz. Irv and Betty were married for 58 years. They had three children together: Bryan, Melinda and Bradley. Irv was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren: Matthew, Daniel, Connor, Ethan, Ellie and Abby. He celebrated all of their accomplishments, whether in the classroom, on the athletic fields, the ice rink, the golf course or at the ballet.
In 1977, Irv and Betty moved their family from Cleveland to Dallas, Texas. Once there, Irv eventually started his own business, The Fan and Lighting Gallery.
Every chance he could, Irv could be found on a golf course, playing the game he enjoyed so much. At one point he was a scratch golfer, with no handicap. He was overjoyed to achieve a golfer's nirvana with multiple hole-in-ones over his lifetime. Irv would play in the morning with his golfing friends and then again in the afternoon with his wife and grandchildren.
He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and Temple Shalom. For many years, Irv relished singing in the Temple Shalom choir.
Irv is survived by his wife, Betty; his three siblings Albert, Gayl, and Michael; his three children Bryan (Renee Morris), Melinda, and Bradley (Sharon Weinberg); his six grandchildren Matthew, Daniel, Connor, Ethan, Eleanor, and Abigail. The family suggests that memorial may be made to Temple Shalom or to the charity of your choice.
