J. Frances McDaniel

Frances was born March 7, 1924 to Hugh and Phoebe Johnson of Woodville, Texas.

After high school Frances worked for Southwestern Bell in Beaumont, and while taking a lunch break with a coworker, her future husband noticed her. Lowell had just returned from the war, still in uniform, and was having lunch with an Army Buddy.

He saw Frances and said to his friend … “that’s the girl I’m going to marry”. Lowell asked to meet her after work and that was the start of their 64 years together.

They were wed in 1946 and welcomed their sons Richard in 1947 and Ronald in 1948.

Lowell and Frances owned Coastal Television in Beaumont for many years while Lowell was also employed by Sun Oil Company. In 1967 Lowell's job took them from Beaumont to Dallas and then from Dallas to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where Frances began her career in real estate. Upon Lowell’s retirement from Sun Oil Company in 1977, they returned to Dallas, and Frances continued her successful real estate career, also joined by her husband.

Frances is survived by her son Ronald and his wife Cathy of Montgomery, Alabama.

She was predeceased by her husband Lowell in 2010 and her son Richard in 2019.

Interment will be at 11 AM November 1, 2023 at the DFW National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
