There are no words to describe the sadness and emptiness we feel with the loss of this great man.  He was a poet, a musician, a true artist, and a beautiful human being.  I speak for many people in the music family that Jay blessed when I say that he will be greatly missed and will remain in our hearts always.  Until we meet again...rest in peace and may God comfort all who mourn your passing.  We love you, Rebecca.  We loved Jay and always will.

The first time I met you was no different than the last time I saw you Jay. Each time left me feeling like I just got to hang out with the coolest guy on the planet. Thank you for always being so willing to talk with. Your words were always so very encouraging regarding my own music. I will never forget them. One of the best men I've known.  Hearts like Jay's are what God had in mind when He invented hearts to begin with.  What a poor and darker place my own life would have been without Jay in it.  Rest easy, brother.  The rest of us have to try to live up the best of you now.

I haven't seen Jay in many years.  But please know that you, Eric, Jay, Lance and Ted and Mrs. Sue and Coach Johnson...you are all very big in my heart.  And my heart is broken for all of you right now.  I am thankful to know Jay and the passion he put into everything he did -- especially his music.  And his laughter... God in heaven... When you saw Jay's eyes and he was up to something and then he started to laugh... no one on earth could keep a straight face.  He was pure, uncontrollable joy.  That is what I will always remember.  I will keep that in my heart.  I pray for God's comfort and peace for you and your family.

I remember how excited he was when the new CD came out Had to sit in truck -quietly- to listen to it. It is a great memory. will miss a hon.

David and I would like you to know how very sorry we are for your loss of Jay. I have been touched by the outpouring of sentiments on his Facebook page. Although we didn't know him he must have been a very special person to have touched so many lives with his talent and his love. May you find peace and love among those who are surrounding you now. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I believe I had known Jay the least amount of time, less than a year, but the moment he introduced himself to me I felt like I was being reunited with an old friend! He was kind, funny, humble, gracious and caring. Always asking about my life and letting me know he truly cared. I'm sad that I didn't get years of friendship but I'm thankful for every minute, every laugh, every smile and every toast! Prayers and hugs to his loving family and closest friends. Jay left to soon but his soul and his light will continue to burn bright in all of you.

Was shocked to hear of Jay's passing. I'll miss that smile and smirk about an inside joke or recent funny we just told. My prayer goes to Rebecca and family. His music continues.
