When preschool came around, he was not happy with twice a week, or three times a week. He insisted on going every day. He loved school.
Joey played every sport. Football, basketball, soccer, baseball, even lacrosse as he grew older. His dad loved coaching him and we all loved watching him. He had the best time camping and fishing with his dad and friends. Dirt biking and four-wheeling trips were epic to him.
Joey loved hard. That was the very best part of him. Joey’s embrace can still be felt. His laughter still heard.
Jen, we are stealing your line, “If love could have saved him, he would have lived forever.”
While our hearts are forever broken, we take comfort that he is in the loving arms of his grandparents. Someone recently had a thought, “Would his Grandpa teach him to bowl first or gamble first, while in heaven?”
We know Joey now sees how much he was loved and will be missed. God recognized his struggle and washed away his pain, regret and worry.
The overwhelming kindness, love and support from our family and friends has been immense. We could never express enough gratitude to everyone.
Joey left us on August 11, 2019. He will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
Joey leaves behind his father Dave, his mom Connie, and his sister that he adored, Tori. He leaves his beautiful Layla and her mom, Caroline Mack. Very special friends, Mark, Patrick and Colton. His second mom, Jen, and countless, just countless lives he has touched. He leaves his Aunt Laura, Uncle Rich, Aunt Diane and his special cousins Ricky, Ryan and Sean. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bob and Irene Urbanski, and Walter and Ann Latka.
