She worked as a registered nurse on cardiac and PCU floors at hospitals in Temple, TX, Amarillo, TX, and Dallas, TX. She had a passion for shopping and attending concerts around the country to see all of her favorite artists and performers.
Kathleen was also a lover of all animals. She grew up raising dogs and as an adult, she rescued 3 very precious bundles of joy. Trixie, a black and grey mixed dog, who crossed the rainbow in late 2019 occupied a very special place in Kathleen's heart as her first rescue. Kathleen provided Trixie the best years of her life and gave her companionship while she was in Temple and Amarillo. Next, Benson, a black and white domestic shorthair cat, joined the family in Amarillo as Kathleen's first cat rescue. Benson loved Kathleen to bits and could always be found snuggling up next to her in bed. Finally, Romeo, a tan chihuahua mixed dog, was added to the family in Amarillo - to help fill the void left behind by Trixie. Romeo's story tugged at Kathleen's heart and even before going to pick him up to foster, Kathleen already knew that Romeo had found his forever home with her.
Kathleen is survived by Benson and Romeo - in addition to her brother John and father Paul.
A visitation period and 'Celebration of Life' service will be held on February 1, 2025 at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home at 7990 PGBT, Dallas, TX 75252. Kathleen has chosen to be cremated with her ashes to be buried next to her mother and stillborn sister at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX. Kathleen's family would like to thank everyone who was in her life, providing her joy and support, in her ups and downs, for sending their prayers and thoughts in these difficult times.
