SMU is having a memorial service to remember those lives that were lost during this year, I happened to see Kress' name listed and I wanted to reach out to you to let you know that I knew your son.  Kress was my student in economics during his first and second semester of his freshman year.  I am so terribly saddened by the news (I just found out).  I wanted you to know that he made a difference and that he will forever live in my memory as a young, happy person.  My prayers are with your family, so very sorry for your loss.

We just learned today of Kress's passing, and our hearts go out to Larry, Jennifer, Jack and Max.  I remember his wonderful sense of whimsy and his unique ability to brighten the world around him.  Whether in the AP economics classroom, on the lacrosse field, or in weekend activities, Kress brought his strong work ethic and uncommon sense of humor to everything and everyone he touched.

We were so saddened to hear the news.Our son Max cherished his friendship with Kress and will miss him so much. He was a great young 
man who touched many lives in a positive way. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.  He was truly loved by his SMU friends.

One of God's Angels
 
 One of the most precious gifts from God is when he sends you one of his Angels. 
  You never know when one of his Angels will be arriving, but when they do you cherish that Angel beyond belief.
  When the opportunity arrives and you are blessed with one of these Angels, your life really begins.
  You learn about a Love you never knew existed. You learn what your Purpose in Life is, and why you were chosen to receive this Angel. You learn that there is a real God because only God could create such a Beautiful Angel.
  It is very unfortunate that when you receive one of these precious Angels, with all the Good and Love you learn, you also have to learn the Hurt and Pain that you also never knew existed.
  You see this Angel stricken with illness and you feel the helplessness, You beg God to understand why if you were fortunate enough to receive this Angel, why must you watch this Angel suffer. 
  You question why God would do this to one of his own Angels, but then you start to realize what was learned at the beginning when this Angel was first sent.
  At this point, you begin to realize your true Purpose in Life was to care for this Angel for the rest of your life.
  You learn that the Love this Angel first taught you is needed most, and you now know you have to give this Angel back the Love you were taught.
  You learn that even with giving this Angel back all the Love you were taught, and with all the caring and good you want to do for this Angel (Your Purpose in Life), you still need to believe in God, because God sent you his Angel and no matter how much you give back, God will have the final say.
  By now you must be wondering who these Angels are. These Angels sent to us are our Children.
We have to Love them with all the love we now have in our Hearts. We have to care for them for as long as they need us to and much longer afterwards even though they do not think they need us to.
  Most of all we have to teach them to also Believe in God so that one-day they will be chosen to receive one of these Angels.

  My reason for writing this is because after receiving Three of these Gifts from God, one was stricken with Leukemia. My Son Christopher was diagnosed with this on November 20, 2001. My wife and I did all the things we were taught by these Angels. But we know that we also need the Love of God on our side.
  Unfortunately, our Little Angel could not overcome this disease, and now he is with God doing what an Angel should be doing. He is looking down on us, and most of all looking after his brother and sister. They will grow and wait for their turn to receive one of these Angels and cherish all the lessons they learned from their brother Christopher so that they can raise their Angels with the same beliefs. 
  With this thought we are asking all those who has had the true pleasure of receiving one of these Angels, or those who are looking forward to the day you are Blessed.
 Please say a Prayer for our Little Angel and we will pray for all the rest of the Angels here on Earth and those who are yet to come.
