Marjorie Sydow Stephenson

Marjorie Madeline Sydow Stephenson, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, met her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 22. Margie was born to Callie and A.C. Tompkins on October 24, 1925 in Rockland, Texas. She was little sister to brothers, Paul and W.M. Tompkins and sister, Sadie Weaver. Margie was blessed with two marriages, first to R.A. Sydow for 37 years followed by 22 years with Don Stephenson. Her professional career was in the banking industry as vice-president with Plano Bank and Trust. During her eighty-eight years Margie graced our world with her generosity, faith, sense of humor, and compassion. These were gifts from God which she graciously shared with all who crossed her path. Mom is survived by her absolute pride and joy, her three daughters, Judy Schmidt and Joan (Dick) Meyer of Houston and Carol (Gary) Smith of Plano. She, also, leaves the memory of her spirit to her dearly loved grandchildren, Chad (Jenina) Smith, Derek (Melissa) Smith, Wayne Meyer, Andy (Jennifer) Meyer and her ever-so-special great granddaughter, Aubrie Smith. A graveside service will be held at Restland Memorial Cemetery in Dallas on Friday, December 27th at 3:30 in the afternoon. “Well done, good and faithful servant!
