

Michael S. Coffey (Mike) was born on December 3rd, 1948 in Bainbridge, Georgia to Jack M. Coffey, Sr and Lacey Dell Coffey. He was reborn in 1981 and died on Tuesday, August 9th in the company of a loving family and a gracious and forgiving God. Mike is survived by his daughter Ericka R. Coffey and grandchildren Katelyn, Madison and Lacey; brother Timothy V. Coffey and wife Sharon of College Station Texas, nieces Jennifer Coffey of Austin Texas, Christa Coffey of Denton Texas; brother Jack M. Coffey, Jr. and wife Martha of McKinney Texas; nephews Jack M. Coffey, III and wife Patti, children Brooke and Colton of Frisco Texas; Chris Coffey and Amy Coffey, children Carson and Peyton of McKinney Texas. Mike's ex-wife, Lorna Dean and husband Mike of North Richland Hills Texas graciously opened their home to Mike over the years.
Mike was honorably discharged from the United States Army in December 1972. He immediately went to work for the United States Post Office. After spending many years with the USPO in El Paso, he transferred to Cameron Texas where he retired in December 2009 as the Postmaster.
Mike leaves behind a rich legacy of friends who shared their love for God, Country and Family. In recent years, Mike obtained his Concealed Handgun License and enjoyed his time at the gun range or at shooting camps with his many retired Postmaster friends.
