Born on August 3, 1940 in Endicott, New York, to Loretta and Joseph Selner. Mike grew up in a loving and lively home with his eight siblings, Joe, Bill, Dorothy, Jack, Ruth, Ann, David, and Patty. Mike graduated from St. Francis Prep School in Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, attended University of Notre Dame and State University of New York at Cortland, New York before joining the IBM Corporation in 1965. Mike married his soulmate, Karen Stone in 1964. He retired from IBM in 1995 and continued his love of sales training at the Acclivus Corporation until 2003. Mike was deeply patriotic, serving in the United States Marine Corp from 1960 to 1966, always paying honor to those serving in the military and first responders. Mike was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Plano, Texas where he formed life changing relationships with his “Band of Brothers.”
The Selner family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to their “Earthly Angel,” Brenda, a.k.a. “Buddy,” for all her loving care that she gave unconditionally to Mike and his family. Also to VITAS Hospice and Arbor Hills Memory Care for their care and dedication to Mike and his family.
