Steve Scarlett

Passed away on February 17, 2016. He was born on January 10, 1958 to Freeman and Jann Scarlett in Shawnee, OK. Steve was a devoted father who taught his children well. Steve enjoyed nature and camping in the Arbuckle Mountains. From a youngster Steve was always a competitive athlete in football, basketball and a competitive game player in ping pong or checkers. Steve worked long hard hours for his family and taught his sons the value of hard work as they worked by his side. He also worked side by side with his brother Chris for 46 years. Steve had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be around. He was always joking and laughing, especially with his family, who all live in the Richardson area. He was also a great friend and always had the right advice for any problem. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Rachel Scarlett; sons, Brandon and Christopher; mother Jann Jerner and husband Craig; brother, Christopher Scarlett and wife Gina; sister, Terri Herdlicka and husband Wayne; nephew, Hunter Herdlicka; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded by his father. Visitation for Steve will be on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from 5-7 pm at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home. Services for Steve will be on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 2 pm at Waterview Church of Christ 1409 Waterview Dr, Richardson, Texas 75080 with internment to follow at Ridge View Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the educations funds for his sons, Brandon and Christopher.
