Winona Pat Cardwell

Winona Patrick (Pat) Cotroneo Cardwell, age 87, passed away on Friday, February 24th, 2023, in Carrollton, Texas. She was born on May 28th, 1935, in Tifton, Georgia to Wiley and Sue McManus. Pat grew up in Decatur, Georgia. She attended and graduated from Decatur High School in 1954. She married Rocco Anthony Cotroneo in 1954 and the couple had 6 children. Following Roc’s passing in 1996, Pat married John R Cardwell in 2000 and gained two stepdaughters.

In her spare time, Pat enjoyed Bible studies, cooking, dancing, music, drawing, painting, and comedy. Her family and friends will always remember her as a special combination of fun, a crazy partner in mischievous antics, and a love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She always put her family first and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and her smile would light up a room. She never met a stranger.

She is preceded in death by her parents Wiley and Sue McManus, her husband, Rocco Anthony Cotroneo, her Second Husband, John R Cardwell, and her siblings Hollie McManus and Susan Newsome.

Pat is survived by her six children, Nancy Roland (Bill), Patti Wyatt (Tim), Mike Cotroneo (Rhonda), Ken Cotroneo (Sheila), Janet Knight (Sean), and David Cotroneo (Roxann). Her two stepdaughters, Crystal Battarbee and Dawn Maruska (Vince). Her brother, Wiley McManus (Carol), her 10 Grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, Joseph, English, Lauren, Rebecca, Garrett, Cameron, Grant, and Reece. Step Grandchildren, Corrie, Charis, Micah, Madison, Johnathon, and Gabriel. 15 great grandchildren and 9 great step grandchildren. Her Brother-in-law James Newsome and Sister-in-law, Amy McManus.

Pat enjoyed competing in senior beauty pageants and earned the title of Ms. Senior McKinney and First Runner up for Ms. Senior Texas.
