Bernice Savala Chacon, of McFarland, CA, passed away on December 14th. She was 98 years old. Predeceased in marriage, Bernice was married for 51 years to Carlos Chacon Sr., and they resided in McFarland, CA.
Bernice worked as a homemaker in McFarland, CA and was also a caretaker for grandchildren in McFarland and Porterville, CA. She was a devout Catholic in her local churches, Saint Mary’s in Delano, and Saint Anne’s in Porterville, CA. Bernice has returned home to our Lord and reunited with her parents, Ascension Savala and Cenovia E. Flores, husband Carlos Chacon Sr., her eldest son, Carlos Chacon Jr., and youngest daughter, Barbara Chacon Morales.
Bernice’s life will be honored and celebrated as she is deeply missed by her children: Benita Chacon of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Mario Chacon Sr. of Porterville, Philip Chacon (wife, Rachel) of Tulare, CA, sister Piedad (Betty) Torrez of Pacoima, Ca. as well as her grandchildren: Joseph Castillo, Jason Castillo, and Johnny Castillo, Trinny Chacon, Carlos Chacon III, and Ramona Chacon, Mario Chacon Jr. (Deceased), Bobby Chacon, Teresa Chacon, Debbie Bratton, and Estella Evaro, Randi Chacon, Maria Chacon, Bobbie Chacon, Carla Hernandez, Anna Espinosa, Juli-Ann Morales, Alicia Jaramillo, Oscar Chacon, and 45 great grandchildren, as well as 13 great great grandchildren.
A visitation for Bernice will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Delano, 707 Browning Road, Delano, CA 93215. A rosary will occur Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 4:00 PM, 707 Browning Road, Delano, CA 93215. A mass of christian burial will occur Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1015 Clinton St., Delano, CA 93215. A committal service will occur Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at North Kern District Cemetery, 627 Austin St., Delano, CA 93215.
