
Hugh MacArthur Hamilton May 2, 1944 - March 5, 2011 Hugh "Mac" Hamilton of Escondido, CA passed away Saturday, March 5, 2011 after a battle with cancer that was filled with courage. Hugh was born in Wasco, CA and grew up in Delano. He attended Delano High School (class of '62). A long time resident of Bakersfield, he worked for Safeway/Von's as a Produce Manager for 37 years. Mac will be remembered for his love of family. He was always willing to help others in his family and family of friends. He enjoyed masonry projects, and gardening. After retiring from Von's he moved to Escondido, CA. Along with his wife Karen, they enjoyed traveling. One of his favorite adventure travels was to Israel to see the Holy Land. He was a devout Christian and loved sharing the Word of Christ with the Men's Ministry at Emmanuel Faith Community Church. He will always be in our hearts! We love you Mac! He is preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn Hamilton, brother Stanley Hamilton, and sisters Linda Chaney and Patricia Wilson. He is survived by his wife Karen Hamilton of Escondido, daughters Debbie Turner of Pasadena, Kim Yglesias of San Jose, step-daughter Jeri Miller of Oceanside and step-son Stan Bartlett of Escondido. He also leaves behind three siblings, Janie Howard, Bob Hamilton and Douglas Hamilton; 9 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. A memorial service will be held in Escondido, CA on Thurs., March 10th at 11am at Emmanuel Faith Community Church. Graveside service will be held at North Kern District Cemetery, Delano, CA.
