

Sianita Aguinaldo Mendoza was born in Lasam, Cagayan on December 30, 1950, to Maria and Emilio Mendoza. She was the fifth born of six siblings: Melecio, Alfonso, Aurelia, Baltazar, Sianita, and Rodolfo.
Sianita or Shaning as everyone called her was a caring, honest, hardworking woman. She was 30 years old when she migrated to Hilo, Hawaii in 1981 where. Her sister Aurelia lived to work as an anthurium laborer. She moved to Delano, California the next year with her brother Rodolfo and worked in the farm industry for 12 years.
Notably, she worked in Alaska for 10 years before eventually returning to Delano to continue working in the farm industry. She was also the primary caretaker for her late mother, Maria, and helped her care for Rodolfo’s children; Rovelle, Melissa, and Kimberly.
Sianita love to cook. She was always in the kitchen, cooking something from scratch or experimenting with a new recipe. She was also good making Filipino desserts.
Sianita also loved to plant vegetables and care for her plants, and her front yard was always full of them year-round. In her spare time, she loved going to casino and playing slot machines.
Though she never married, she loved her extended family, nieces, and nephews with all her heart.
In 2021, she was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer after her diagnosis, doctors told her she would have six months to live. She lived an additional five years, making it to her 75th birthday and New Year. Sianita passed away on January 1, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Delano, located at 707 Browning Rd., Delano, CA 93215-9747, on January 23, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A rosary will take place at the same venue on January 23, 2026, at 4:00 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, located at 1015 Clinton St., Delano, CA 93215, on January 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. The committal service will follow at North Kern Cemetery District, located at 627 Austin St., Delano, CA 93215, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am.
Pallbearers will include Henry Rasay, Josh Quiling, Manuel Quintero, Eddie Galindo, Jimmy Alejo, Leo Olivaros, Fred Lafradez, and Emerson Quino.
