Ann married John Ray at the Ravenna Methodist Church on Sept 14, 1940. She worked in nursing for 24 years both at Madonna and Katy hospitals of Denison, TX. She was always known to have served her patients well and with God’s love and kindness.
After World War II when her husband was discharged from The United States Marine Corps, they bought a farm south of Ravenna and farmed for five years. They relocated to Denison TX in 1952. John began work at the Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman and shortly after Ann began her career in Nursing.
The family joined First Christian Church in 1953, where they faithfully served for over 60 years. Ann served in many area if the church as called on. She was very dedicated to her faith, family, and church. She will always be remembered as a caring Christian, wife, mom, grandparent, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and Lillie, husband John, sisters Genevie and Jean, and brothers Glendle Ray and Alton and great great granddaughter Lillian Howard
She is survived by sister Louise and Bennie Elk of Denison, sister Lena Hensley of Savoy and sister Brenda and Douglas Brooks of Savoy. Also, son John Wayne (Skeeter) Ray of Willafa Woods, OK and Ronny of Pottsboro TX, and by many grandchildren: Harold and Bridget Ray, Scotty Ray, Jay and Jennifer Stow, Mandy and Brad Underwood. As well as Great grandchildren: Jackie Jackson, Vance Ray, Britnee Ray, Landry Stow, Adam and Taylor Underwood. With great great grandchild: Gavin Holland. And numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home, and First Christian Church, 800 W Woodard Denison TX. Visitation will be at the Church on January 28, 2019 at 10:00 am. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am under the direction of the senior Pastor Dr. Jeff Johnson. Pallbearers will be: Robert Hempkins, Robert Brady, J.C. Doty, Bo Jones, Pat Rowland, and Paul Hennin.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for the research and cure for Dementia.
