Jo Ann Marcantel, 64, of DeQuincy, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at her residence. She was born to her late parents, J.B. and Loretta Brister on November 15, 1956 in Conroe, TX. She loved tending to her garden (especially growing tomatoes), making quilts, fishing, and her main love was her fur babies. Jo Ann loved going dancing and drinking with her friends. Every year she looked forward to cooking Thanksgiving Dinner for her family, which was a highlight for her.
She is survived by her brother, Robert "Jr." Patrick Brister (Rhonda) of Rogers, AR; two sisters, Sheila Perkins of DeQuincy, Rhonda Yellott (Clinton) of Oretta; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann is preceded in death by her loving husband, Carroll J. "Buck" Marcantel; her parents; along with her baby sister, Kathy Yellott.
Services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in DeQuincy on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 2:00pm, with Bro. Roland Hebert officiating. Visitation will be at New Hope Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation will resume at the church on Wednesday from 12:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.
