John Benjamin Says Sr., passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at his residence. He was an avid gardener and still worked Bingo and was active in the VFW. John loved going to friend’s houses to drink coffee and visit.
He is survived by his sister Betty Jo Howard of Starks, La.; grandchildren, Natasha McIntosh and husband Trent of Bossier City, La., Heath Johnson and wife Karis of Woodland Park, Colo., Christopher Gore of Prattville, Ala., Shannon Jones and husband Derek of Massachusetts, along with 9 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; children, John Says Jr., Cheryl Smith and Linda Says; brothers, Robert Says, Clifton Says and George Stanley; sisters, Minnie Ashworth, Mary Gibson, Grace Broussard and Lillie Smith.
Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at the First Pentecostal Church of Starks. Visitation will be on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, from 5-9 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial to follow at VFW Cemetery in Starks, La.
